Texas Hill Country Reptiles and Amphibians by Month

Limestone hills and spring-fed rivers make up the Hill Country. Texas Spiny Lizards are the most-reported herp. Common Spotted Whiptails and Greater Earless Lizards sun on the rocks. Snakes are the biggest group. May is the busiest month, and the Western Diamond-backed Rattlesnake and Texas Coralsnake live here.
