Pine woods, swamps and tidal marsh make up the Mid-Atlantic Coastal Plain. Frogs are the big group here. Fowler's Toads, Green Treefrogs and Squirrel Tree Frogs call on warm, wet nights. Pond Sliders and Painted Turtles bask in the ponds. April is the busiest month, and the Northern Cottonmouth and Pygmy Rattlesnake live here.
